DUMBLEDORE CHPTS. 5-7

IN CHAPTERS FIVE THROUGH SEVEN, DUMBLEDORE STILL DOESNT PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN THE LIVES OF HARRY AND HIS FRIENDS AT HOGWARTS. DUMBLEDORE MAKES TWO APPAARENCES IN THESE CHAPTERS AND WAS STILL UNABLE TO MAKE A BIG IMAPACT ON THE CHARACTERS'. ON THE FIRST APPARENCE, HE IS DISPLAYED ON A CARD FROM A CHOCALATE FROG THAT HARRY ATE. THE THE CARD INFORMED HARRY THAT DUMBLEDORE WAS CONSIDERED A GREAT WIZARD. HE WAS FAMOUS FOR HIS DEFEAT OF THE DARK GRINDELWALD, DISCOVERY OF TWELVE USES OF DRAGON BLOOD, AND ALCHEMY. ALTHOUGH HE WAS FAMOUS FOR MANY THINGS, THESE WERE THE FIRST THINGS HARRY RECOGNIZED ABOUT DUMBLEDORE. THE SECOND TIME DUMBLEDORE APPEARS IN THE BOOK, THEY ARE AT THE SORTING CEROMONY AND HIS ONLY PURPOSE IS TO WELCOME THE STUDENTS TO A NEW SEMESTER AT HOGWARTS. HE ALSO REMINDES THEM OF THE SCHOOL RULES AND ENDED WITH A SCHOOL HYMN. THE AUTHOR DISPLAYS DUMBLEDORE AS BEING A INSIGNIFICANT CHARACTER IN THESE CHAPTERS. DUMBLEDORE IS SUPPOSSED TO BE THIS SUPERIOR WIZARD WHO IS GREAT AND RESPECTED, BUT IN THESE COUPLE OF CHAPTERS HE DOES NOT FUFILL HIS REPUTATION. HIS CHARACTER DOES NOT KEEP ME INTERESTED IN HIS PURPOSE OF BEING IN THE BOOK. I'M MORE INTERESTED IN LEARNING HARRY'S JOURNEY OF ACCEPTANCE WITH THE OTHER STUDENTS AND HIS PURPOSE FOR BEING AT HOGWARTS. I THINK THE AUTHOR DOES A GOOD JOB IN SETTING UP THE BEGINNING OF HARRY'S JOURNEY OF ENTERING INTO THE "MAGICAL WORLD" WITH THE TRAIN SCENE. I SAW MYSELF IN THE ACTUAL SCENE WHERE HARRY WAS DROPPED OFF BY THE DURSLEYS AND LOOKING FOR THE PLATFORM AT THE TRAIN STATION. I BELIEVE THIS WAS DUE TO HER VIVID DESCRIPTION AND DETAIL AND BEING ABLE TO CAPTURE THE READERS ATTENTION. I THINK ITS IRONIC HOW HARRY IS PERCEIVED BY EVERYONE BUT IT CONSTANTLY LOOKS AT HIMSELF LIKE WHATS THE BIG DEAL. HE ONCE QUESTIONED HAGRID ON HIS FEELING LIKE HE WILL LET EVERYONE DOWN OR NOT BECOME WHO THEY THINK HE WILL. AFTER ALL LIKE HE SAID HE DOESNT KNOW ANY MAGIC AND FEELS INFERIOR TO THE OTHER STUDENTS BECAUSE HE KNOWS THEY KNOW MORE THAN HIM. I ALSO LIKE THE IDEA OF THE AUTHOR CREATING THIS SEPEARTION OF THE STUDENTS. HARRY AND HIS FRIENDS VS. MALFOY AND HIS. I THINK THE COMPETITION WILTH MALFOY WILL HELP HARRY GROW AS A CHARACTER ESPECIALLY IN CONFIDENCE.

  1. Interesting thoughts about Harry. Also, again, please do not write in all caps. If the blog is automatically turning your text that way, change it.
